Bride$hare.... just signed up

I only just learned of Bride$hare. I believe the site is pretty new. If you're wondering what this site is about, you're not alone. Here is an insert from the site: "What is Bride$hare?Bride$hare is a social networking site designed to help brides save money by sharing wedding-related resources and goods. Decor, apparel, rentals, and even vendors can be shared, swapped, or sold through Bride$hare connections."
I expect great things to come of this wonderful concept!! Have a look for yourself at www.brideshare.net

Stupid Allegiant Air

Ugh. Well Allegiant Air decided to change their flight times to Vegas out of Duluth! Most of my guest would have been flyng out of Duluth! Now instead of getting into Vegas at a decent hour, they will get in at approx 9:45 pm!! This throws a hoop into my plans because I was planning on having a "meet & greet" Friday night. This will make it near impossible to do so! I have to be in bed at a decent hour if I don't want to look like "dawn of the dead" on my wedding day! If there was a Thursday flight, I wouldn't care. There isn't. Hopefully they will change their arrival time back to 3:30 pm by the time my wedding approaches.

just some thoughts

It's about the marriage, not the wedding.

While planning our wedding, the previous statement makes a frequent appearance in my thoughts. I'm trying very hard not to buy into the commercialism of weddings. I think it's absolutely ridiculous the amount of money the industry expects us to pay for things. I'm trying to keep my wedding budget under $10 G. I think by taking an alternative approach to some things such as the dress, the invites, and flowers, I will come in just under that. Honestly, I just want to marry Craig. I could care less about the wedding, I'm in it for the marriage.

Favours!

Out of all the weddings I've been to, I only remember a few of the favours that we were given as guests. The first was a chocolate bar with the couples name and date, the second was a cd with the couples favourite songs, and the third being my most recent favour gift, a shot glass. The chocolate is long gone, the cd I still listen to, and the shot glass now sits in my cupboard waiting to help me out with a drink. I've decided to go with the cd and chocolate for my favours! I'm going to order chocolate poker chips and put them in a favour bag. Not so hard to do right? And for the cd I'm hoping to order the ones that look like vinyl. I'm so excited!! Now if only we could agree on the song list!

Thank You

They don't seek glory or honour. Because that is already theirs.
They seek only Remembrance -- for the comrades they left behind.
Those men and women they vowed never to forget.
Sixty-five years later, time has become their new enemy.
It has taken its toll on their once-young bodies.
Their step is no longer as brisk as it once was.
Their salute is not quite as sharp.
Their knees now resist the bend.
But still, they continue to march in formation.
To march on the colours.
To lay wreaths.
And to honour their fallen comrades.
I am truly humbled to be in your presence. To be witness to your dignity and courage.
You have known the great price of freedom, and you have been willing to pay it.
You have known the terrible struggles of nation building, and you have made Canada strong and proud and free.
You have felt sacrifice, and you have made Canada the best country in the world.
We can never repay you. We can only offer two simple words: 'Thank you.'
Lest we forget.

Starting over

If you don't do what's best for your body, you're the one who comes up on the short end.~~Julius Erving.

When I read this quote yesterday my first thought was.. wow that completely makes sense to me. Today I read it and figure I'm short enough... time to step up and get out.

I can totally write about goals that will never be kept, pounds I want to lose, but I won't. What I will write about is the fact that over the past 2 days I have worked out twice each day, totalling 1.5 hrs per day. I'm quite embarrased to say that this accomplishment surpasses last months excersises combined.

That is why I'm starting over. That was my old life. My new life is day to day. No "Tomorrows". I will not start my diet tomorrow, I will not work out tomorrow. I don't have a tomorrow, all I have is today. Today, I ate well, worked out, and today, I feel great!
